Who am I?
I’m Ms. X and I’m the program founder and Chinese teacher at Beaver Country Day School in Chestnut Hill, MA.
I'm from Chengdu, China, hometown of Giant Pandas and the most delicious food in the world. I majored in Asian Studies at Mount Holyoke College in western Mass and decided to inspire kids in the US to learn about China by teaching Chinese.
During the summers of my first years of teaching, I finished my masters degree of Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language at Middlebury College. I saw the potential of summer learning and the value of a tight knit learning community.
With close to a decade of teaching experience, I'm ready to explore more opportunities for more kids like you to learn Chinese! Are you ready to XploreChinese?
Why XploreChinese?
For many years, I have searched opportunities for my students to practice Chinese over the summer in Boston. There is a vacuum of local programs that are fun, innovative and student-centered.
I want to create a community for local students to retain and develop their Chinese skills all year round. So I decided to launch XploreChinese Summer Institute.
Students will have Boston as their classroom to enhance their Chinese language and creative problem-solving skills!
